Tennis Court Makeover
An abandoned tennis court, overgrown with weeds and bordered by deteriorating screening trees, was transformed into a vibrant garden designed for cutting flowers, roses, perennials, and ornamental shrubs.
At the heart of the garden is a custom-designed, English-style gazebo that serves as both a charming architectural focal point and a practical workspace for arranging flowers harvested from the garden. A six-foot-wide sink provides ample room for preparing cut flowers, while a built-in refrigerator keeps refreshments close at hand.
The garden also features a dramatic 36-foot-wide koi pond, complemented by a constructed wetland that naturally filters the water, helping to maintain exceptional clarity while creating a rich habitat for aquatic life.
What was once a neglected, utilitarian space has become a productive and beautiful garden—a place to cultivate flowers, enjoy the water, and gather with family and friends. The transformation demonstrates how thoughtful design can give an underused landscape an entirely new purpose, combining horticultural abundance, architectural character, and the restorative qualities of water.
