Description:
Grubb uses boxwood throughout the estate, clipping the bushes in various styles, to add both texture and diversity to the landscape. Those shown here are cloud-clipped. Elsewhere they are ball-clipped, squared off, or pruned in other imaginative shapes. Some are in pots, others in the ground. A pair near the barn are more than ten feet tall, contoured to resemble distant trees. “They’re just so elegant,” he says.
