Description:
The stone retaining walls and steps were already in existence when Grubb began the project. He set off the stairway by antique planters and placed the fountain in the center of the upper garden. The bare trellis centered on the dining room’s french doors, is now covered with wisteria. Although much of the terrace area is based on a formal symmetry, the atmosphere is inviting and homey because of Grubb’s many softening effects.
